Finopscraft Documentation
Connect your cloud accounts and see your first forecast in under 10 minutes.
Getting started with Finopscraft
Finopscraft connects to your existing cloud billing APIs. There is no agent to install and no change to your infrastructure. Setup requires read-only credentials that you can revoke at any time.
What you need before starting
- A Finopscraft account (start your free trial at login/register)
- Access to your cloud provider's billing configuration (Cost Explorer for AWS, Billing export for GCP, Cost Management for Azure)
- Approximately 10 minutes
Supported providers
Finopscraft currently ingests billing data from:
- AWS via the Cost Explorer API. Requires an IAM user or role with
ce:GetCostAndUsageandce:GetCostForecastpermissions. - Google Cloud Platform via the Billing export to BigQuery. Requires BigQuery Data Viewer access to the export dataset.
- Microsoft Azure via the Cost Management API. Requires Cost Management Reader role at the subscription or billing scope.
What Finopscraft does with your data
Once connected, Finopscraft ingests your billing data on a daily schedule (within 24 hours of each billing period close). It normalises cost across providers into a unified schema keyed by service, region, and your custom allocation tags. The forecasting model runs nightly and outputs a 30 to 180-day projection depending on your tier.
Your billing data is stored in encrypted form and is not shared with third parties. Read-only access credentials are stored securely and never used outside of billing ingestion.
